3D Printed Robotic Arm
Posted by: Nomoreidsleft
Video duration: 87 seconds
This is a simple test of the operation of a 3D printed robotic arm. The arm is driven by a Nema 17 stepper motor, through a 8:1 reduction gear system. Everything, including the gear train is 3D printed on a Thing-O-Matic made by Makerbot. All except the mounting hardware, of course.

Fun with Wii Controllers.
Posted by: Nomoreidsleft
Video duration: 54 seconds
A video of using one Wii controller to set the leds of another controller. The Z axis is being read, and is mapped to the four leds as a positional value. I'm programming a PC to read the accelerometer of one controller and sending the signals to the other controller to set the leds. It's all being done through bluetooth, since the Wii controllers are visible to the PC as HID devices.

Nine Eagles Solo Pro Filmed at 420 fps with Casio Exilim FH25

Video duration: 119 seconds
This was filmed at 420 fps.
High speed recording of Solo Pro. Notice the oscillations and twisting from the tail. This causes impreciseness in control during flight. The connection of the tail to the body should be stiffened so reduce twisting side ways. I think this would make for more precise turns.

Star Trek TNG - In Theory - Montage (V1)
Posted by: Nomoreidsleft
Video duration: 178 seconds
Data's foray into romance. He develops a program to carry on a romantic relationship with fellow shipmate Lt. Jenna. Oh, meanwhile the ship is caught in a two dimensional field consisting of aliens which cause subspace distortions in the ship.
I thought this song by Andi (aka the music to Triscuit commercial) fits well.
